Emily Liddel: Wife of John Randolph
Emily was born in Mississippi to a wealthy family. As her dowry when she married John, her father gave twenty slaves. She bore eleven children. She was very brave as she protected her family during the Civil War.
The Seven Girls
The seven Randolph girls were Cornelia, Ella, Mary, Emma, Sarah, Annie, and Julia. Cornelia is the most famous, as she wrote a journal about the history of Nottoway and published it under the name M.R. Ailenroc. She did this because women weren't allowed to publish books.
The Four Boys
The four boys were John Jr., Moses, Algernon, and Peter. Algernon died in the Civil War. John fought in the Civil War. Little is known of Peter. Moses married and had a nice life.
